Abstract
Nanofluids are potential heat transfer fluids that has superior thermal properties as compare to the conventional fluids. The application of nanofluids in various thermal applications such as automotive industries, heat exchangers, solar power generation is to achieve the highest possible thermal properties. Performance of solar collectors depends upon various factors among which the working fluid which flows through the collectors is most important. In recent years the use of nanofluids in solar collectors has been increased due to its greater heat absorbing and heat transfer properties compared to traditional working fluids. This review summarizes the current research in this innovative field. It discusses direct solar absorber collectors and methods for improving their performance.
